LensCal — Privacy Policy

LensCal is a calorie and nutrition tracker for iPhone. This policy explains what the app does with your data. The short version: your food log and body metrics stay on your device, we have no user accounts, and we do not track you or sell anything to anyone.

What LensCal stores, and where

• On your device only. Your profile (weight, height, date of birth, sex, activity level, goals), your food log, your meal photos, water intake and streaks are stored locally on your iPhone. We have no server that holds them and no account to sign into.
• Apple Health. If you turn on the Health integration, LensCal reads body metrics you authorise and writes the calories and macronutrients you log. That data flows between the app and Apple Health on your device. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app.
• iCloud/device backups. If you back up your iPhone, your LensCal data is included in that backup, under Apple's terms — not ours.

Meal photos

• Barcode reading, nutrition-label reading and basic food recognition happen entirely on your iPhone, using Apple's Vision framework. Those photos never leave the device.
• Precision AI analysis (a paid feature) sends the photo off the device. The image is sent over HTTPS to our analysis endpoint, which forwards it to Google's Gemini API to identify the foods and estimate portions. The request carries only the image and the analysis instructions — no name, no email, no account, no device identifier and no location. We do not store the photo on our server; it is held in memory only for the duration of the request. Google's handling of API requests is governed by the Gemini API terms.
• The app asks for your explicit consent before the first time a photo is sent, and you can always log meals manually or with the barcode/label reader instead.

Other network requests

• Open Food Facts — when you scan a barcode, the barcode number is sent to the Open Food Facts database to look up the product.
• USDA FoodData Central — when you search for a food or the app looks up nutrition for a recognised food, the search term is sent to the USDA food database.

Neither request includes anything about you: just the barcode or the search term.

What we do not do

• No user accounts, no sign-up, no email collection.
• No advertising, no ad networks, no third-party analytics SDKs.
• No tracking across apps or websites, and no App Tracking Transparency prompt because there is nothing to track.
• No selling or sharing of personal data. There is no personal data on our side to sell.

Subscriptions

LensCal Premium is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Payment, billing and renewals are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details. To verify that a request to the precision AI engine comes from an active subscriber, the app sends Apple's signed subscription receipt to our endpoint, where its signature is checked. That receipt identifies the subscription, not you.

Deleting your data

Settings → Clear history removes your logged meals; Delete account removes your profile and all logged data from the device. Deleting the app removes everything it stored. Because we hold no copy on a server, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf — and nothing for us to hand over if we were asked for it.

Children

LensCal is not directed at children under 13 and the app does not allow a date of birth that would make the user younger than 13.

Health disclaimer

LensCal provides estimates for informational purposes. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, nutritional or dietary advice. Calorie and macronutrient values — especially those estimated from a photo — are approximations. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before making decisions about your diet, and do not rely on this app to manage a medical condition.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the updated date above will change and the new version will be published at this address.

LensCal es una app de conteo de calorías para iPhone. En resumen: tu registro de comidas y tus datos corporales se quedan en tu dispositivo, no hay cuentas de usuario y no te rastreamos.

Qué guarda LensCal y dónde

• Solo en tu dispositivo. Tu perfil (peso, altura, fecha de nacimiento, sexo, nivel de actividad, objetivos), tu registro de comidas, tus fotos, el agua y las rachas se guardan localmente en tu iPhone. No hay servidor que los almacene ni cuenta a la que entrar.
• Salud de Apple. Si activas la integración, LensCal lee las métricas corporales que autorices y escribe las calorías y macronutrientes que registras. Puedes revocar el acceso cuando quieras desde la app Salud.
• Copias de seguridad. Si haces copia de tu iPhone, los datos de LensCal van incluidos, bajo los términos de Apple.

Fotos de comida

• La lectura de códigos de barras, la lectura de etiquetas nutricionales y el reconocimiento básico ocurren enteramente en tu iPhone con el framework Vision de Apple. Esas fotos no salen del dispositivo.
• El análisis de IA de precisión (función de pago) sí envía la foto. La imagen viaja por HTTPS a nuestro endpoint, que la reenvía a la API Gemini de Google para identificar los alimentos y estimar las porciones. La petición lleva solo la imagen y las instrucciones: ni nombre, ni correo, ni cuenta, ni identificador de dispositivo, ni ubicación. No guardamos la foto en el servidor. La app pide tu consentimiento explícito antes del primer envío, y siempre puedes registrar tus comidas a mano o con el lector de códigos/etiquetas.

Otras peticiones de red

• Open Food Facts — al escanear un código de barras se envía ese número para buscar el producto.
• USDA FoodData Central — al buscar un alimento se envía el término de búsqueda.

Ninguna de las dos incluye nada sobre ti.

Lo que no hacemos

• Sin cuentas de usuario ni recogida de correos.
• Sin publicidad, sin redes de anuncios, sin SDK de analítica de terceros.
• Sin seguimiento entre apps o webs.
• Sin venta ni cesión de datos personales.

Suscripciones

LensCal Premium se vende mediante la compra integrada de Apple. El pago y las renovaciones los gestiona Apple íntegramente; nunca vemos tus datos de pago. Para comprobar que quien usa el motor de IA de precisión es un suscriptor activo, la app envía el recibo firmado por Apple a nuestro endpoint, donde se verifica la firma. Ese recibo identifica la suscripción, no a ti.

Borrar tus datos

Ajustes → Borrar historial elimina tus comidas registradas; Eliminar cuenta elimina tu perfil y todos los datos del dispositivo. Desinstalar la app lo borra todo. Como no tenemos copia en ningún servidor, no hay nada que podamos borrar por ti — ni nada que entregar si nos lo pidieran.

Menores

LensCal no está dirigida a menores de 13 años y la app no admite una fecha de nacimiento que implique una edad inferior.

Aviso sanitario

LensCal ofrece estimaciones con fines informativos. No es un producto sanitario ni proporciona consejo médico o dietético. Los valores de calorías y macronutrientes —sobre todo los estimados a partir de una foto— son aproximaciones. Consulta a un profesional sanitario antes de tomar decisiones sobre tu alimentación.
